About Mark Donahue
Mark Donahue is currently in his sixth year teaching in O’Fallon, and fifth as Director of Bands in O’Fallon Community Consolidated School District 90. In District 90, Mr. Donahue teaches the 6th and 8th grade bands. In addition, he teaches and oversees the 5th grade beginning band program and conducts the Symphonic Winds, an auditioned ensemble that meets twice per week.
Mr. Donahue holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Illinois State University, completing his student teaching at O’Fallon Township High School in the spring of 2013 with Dr. Melissa Gustafson-Hinds. Mark completed his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from McKendree University in 2016. He was also a member of the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps from 2008-2012, serving as Drum Major for his final three seasons. During the summer, he teaches Colts Drum and Bugle Corps based out of Dubuque, IA.
About Aaron Kennedy
Aaron Kennedy is currently in his second year of teaching in O’Fallon Community Consolidated School District 90 as the Assistant Band Director. In District 90, Mr. Kennedy teaches the 7th grade and 8th grade bands. Additionally, he leads both the Carriel and Fulton Jr. High Jazz Bands and teaches the 5th grade beginning band Saxophones and French Horns.
Mr. Kennedy received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2017. While at U of I, Mr. Kennedy performed in ensembles such as the Illinois Wind Symphony, Jazz Band II, and Marching Illini. During the summer and fall months, Mr. Kennedy writes drill and arranges music for high school marching bands across the state of Illinois.
About OF90 Bands
The junior high school band program falls under one big umbrella for the entire District 90. We have approximately 370 junior high school students and just under 200 fifth grade students.
